Tomcat Water Rescue Backboard
The Tomcat Integral Cervical Immobilisation Device is a revolutionary new concept in spinal immobilisaiton which focuses on the patient and healthcare professional while being sensitive to the space-saving needs on emergency apparatus.
This is a sturdy, lightweight backboard featuring a fully functional cervical immobilisation device ready to deploy in seconds, eliminating the need for carrying multiple pieces of equipment to a scene.
The paddles provide rigid and reliable immobilisation, snapping securely down into the backboard when not in use, making the board easy to store. This unique paddle design allows quick attachment and storage of disposable Velcro® straps, a quick selection of lateral positions and accommodates a wide variety of head shapes and sizes from 2 years old (may need to pad shoulders) to patients with helmets (will need adhesive tape).
The included disposable foam blocks and Velcro® straps are easy to apply and eliminate the possible transmission of blood and pathogens. The straps also remove the need to lift the backboard to secure the patient's head.
The contour of the board provides more patient comfort and support, while the occipital padding aids cervical spine alignment.
The backboard also features:
- 12 extra large, rugged texture hand holes to accommodate large gloved hands and increase gripping power.
- an integrated pupil gauge, Glasgow Coma Scale and Rule of 9's.
- large earholes to facilitate easy communication and allow for better patient evaluation.
- an integrated oxygen clip to provide a quick and easy method to attach a nasal cannula and oxygen mask.
