Consists of a plastic outer case incorporating red flare at one end for day and night signalling, and orange smoke for daylight use
Both end capes are coded for easy identification
Sealed with 'O' rings to make the signal watertight
Either end can be fired independently by means of a pull-ring percussion striker mechanism, and the unused end stowed until required.
