Safety & Rescue was founded in 2004 and started to produce custom designed medical packs for the marine rescue environment. We wanted to offer customers a one stop place for advice and access to quality products at great prices. Rather than open a retail shop Safety & Rescue launched the web site to allow customers all over New Zealand to have access to quality products without having huge over heads. In more recent times we have expanded our operation to international customers as well.
Our customers are real people from Joe Public who needs a life jacket for his small trailer boat to serious offshore sailors looking for extensive medical kits. We are also suppliers to professional rescue and protection agencies such as the NZ Police, Coastguard NZ, NZ Fire Service, NZ Customs, Department of Conservation, and Surf Life Saving NZ.

The Director I am Izaak Bates the director and founder of Safety & Rescue Ltd. Throughout my life I have been involved in various search & rescue organisations. I have a passion for all things to do with safety, survival and rescue. I have gained a lot of experience with the products we sell as I am very active with Coastguard NZ, Surf Life Saving NZ and the Ambulance service. I really like to hear back from our customers when they have used our equipment either to save themselves or in the rescue and treatment of others. It is one of the neat things about this company knowing that our products have saved people’s lives.
